The National Labour Council has approved an extension of the list of products eligible under eco vouchers. These changes will take effect on 1 June 2026.
What are the changes in practice from 1 June 2026?
1) Broader access to sustainable labels in food
- All food products with a Fairtrade label
- Aquaculture products bearing the ASC label
2) Adjustment of the “energy-efficient electrical appliances” category to include
- Domestic refrigeration appliances: energy classes A, B or C
- Household dishwashers: energy class A
- Washer-dryers for domestic use: energy classes A, B or C
The underlying principle is clear: to steer eco vouchers towards purchases with genuine environmental and social impact, while preserving their accessibility. In other words, strengthening the sustainability dimension without undermining beneficiaries’ purchasing power.
These additions naturally complement the existing list (organic products, second-hand goods, etc.).
