JC 149.01 — Electricians: installation and distribution Electricians: two scenarios to decide before 30 September 2026

Decision before 30/09/2026

The 2025-2026 sectoral agreement of joint sub-committee 149.01 requires every employer to choose, in consultation with the union delegation, between two distinct scenarios for the meal voucher and eco-voucher reform.

Your challenges

Sound familiar?

Have you formalised your decision before 30 September 2026?

The choice must be locked in with your union delegation before that date, scenario by scenario, based on the annual impact on your workforce.

+€2 and lose the eco-vouchers, or +€1 and keep them?

Either you raise meal vouchers by €2 and abolish the €250 sectoral eco-vouchers, or you raise by €1 and keep those €250. The annual impact diverges sharply depending on the profile and seniority of your workforce.

Blue-collar and white-collar: two regimes to manage in parallel

Only blue-collar workers fall under JC 149.01. White-collar staff in the same companies are governed by JC 200, with a separate framework. A clear segmentation of populations is essential to apply the right rules to each group.

Key measures

What applies to your sector

Scenario 1: +€2 meal voucher, eco-vouchers abolished

Employer contribution increased by €2 (new introductions at €3.09: €2 employer + €1.09 employee). In return, the sectoral €250 eco-vouchers are abolished from 1 October 2026; the final allocation covers the period from October 2025 to September 2026.

Scenario 2: +€1 meal voucher, eco-vouchers retained

Employer contribution increased by €1 (new introductions at €2.09: €1 employer + €1.09 employee). The €250 sectoral eco-vouchers are retained, along with any alternative use already agreed.

Meal allowance, offset and exemption

Employers granting a meal allowance below the €9 legal ceiling may increase it within the limits of the chosen scenario without switching to meal vouchers. Any increase already applied in 2026 before 1 October may be offset against the sectoral obligation. Companies in genuine financial difficulty may request a motivated exemption from the joint sub-committee before 1 July 2026.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about sectoral agreements

What is the concrete difference between Scenario 1 and Scenario 2?

Scenario 1 raises the employer contribution to meal vouchers by €2 (new introductions at €3.09) but fully abolishes the €250 sectoral eco-vouchers from 1 October 2026. Scenario 2 increases the employer contribution by only €1 (new introductions at €2.09) and retains the eco-vouchers. The trade-off depends on the total annual cost and the desired employer positioning.

Are my white-collar employees affected by this measure?

No. Joint sub-committee 149.01 only covers blue-collar workers in the electrical sector. White-collar staff in the same companies fall under JC 200 (the general joint committee), which has a separate meal voucher framework. Your blue-collar and white-collar populations must be managed separately, with rules specific to each.

How do I request the exemption for financial difficulty?

Companies facing genuine financial difficulty may submit a motivated exemption request to joint sub-committee 149.01. The request must reach the sub-committee before 1 July 2026 and include documentation supporting the financial situation.

Is the €10 meal voucher mandatory for all companies?

No. The legal ceiling is set at €10, but the actual amount depends on your sector agreements. Some sectors require the maximum, others a lower amount.

Can meal vouchers be optimised without increasing the overall cost for the employer?

Yes. Meal vouchers benefit from a favourable tax regime. A modelling exercise with Monizze allows you to compare scenarios and identify the most optimised option for your budget.

My industry sector is not listed, what should I do?

If your JC doesn't appear, no definitive decision has been confirmed for your sector. New provisions will be added once confirmed. Contact Monizze for personalised guidance.
