It’s the first time in 10 years
… and good news for your wallet!
As of 1 January 2026, the maximum value of meal vouchers will increase from €8 to €10 per day worked.
This change, part of a federal government principle agreement, allows you to strengthen your purchasing power while benefiting from favorable tax conditions.
Here’s what you need to know.

Treat yourself to more than lunch and take a moment to recharge
Increasing your meal vouchers to the maximum of €10 per day improves a key moment in your day and increases your net purchasing power, without upsetting your budget.

What are the tax implications?
The tax-deductible company contribution doubles from €2 to €4 per voucher when increasing the value from €8 to €10.
So for €440 granted by your company (220 worked days x €2), you benefit from €440 net.

Is it mandatory to increase the value of your meal vouchers?
No. The increase is neither mandatory nor automatic.
It’s entirely up to you to decide whether, and by how much to increase the value. The higher the amount, the more you benefit.

A daily positive impact
Lunch breaks aren’t just about a grab-and-go sandwich. With up to €2 more per day, you can:
- Get that coffee or dessert you really want
- Choose a fuller or healthier meal
- Enjoy a proper lunch break
For many, happiness starts with a good meal. Sometimes, an extra €2 is all it takes.
Will this impact your order fees?
No. With Monizze, your order fees remain fixed regardless of the voucher value.
That’s a major difference compared to other issuers, where fees are often calculated as a percentage of the voucher amount… potentially increasing your order costs by 25%.
With Monizze, you keep your costs under control while increasing your purchasing power in a fiscally beneficial way.

What steps do you need to take?
Thinking about increasing the amount of your meal vouchers? It couldn’t be simpler.
As of 2026, just adjust the amount of your (automatic) orders in your Client Area, or inform your accountant or payroll provider.
