What are the tax implications?

Good news: the tax-deductible employer contribution doubles from €2 to €4 per voucher if you increase the value from €8 to €10. The goal? To strengthen both employees’ purchasing power and companies’ competitiveness.

The employee contribution of €1.09 per voucher is expected to remain unchanged.

Is it mandatory to increase the value of meal vouchers?

No. The increase is neither mandatory nor automatic.

As an employer, it’s your decision whether, and by how much, you increase the value of the meal vouchers granted to your employees.
